TARAGIRE
Tarangire sits roughly 118–120km southwest of Arusha, a comfortable drive of about two hours along a surfaced road to within 7km of the main gate. From there, the same road continues on toward Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti — making Tarangire a natural first or last stop on a longer northern circuit safari. Charter flights from Arusha and the Serengeti are also available for those short on time.
Rainfall here is bimodal: short rains from October to December and long rains from March to May, with dry spells from June to October and again in January and February. Daytime temperatures range from around 15°C in July up to 38°C in the January–February heat.
