Mikumi

Mikumi sits about 283km from Dar es Salaam, a drive of roughly 3–4 hours along the tarred Dar-to-Zambia highway via Morogoro town (118km from the gate). Scheduled flights are also available from Dar es Salaam to the park's own Kikoboga airstrip for those short on time. The park borders Nyerere National Park to the south, the two forming one large connected ecosystem, and sits on the same route onward to Udzungwa Mountains, Ruaha and Kitulo.

Mikumi is accessible year-round, but the dry season from roughly May to November concentrates wildlife more predictably around the Mkata River and its waterholes.
