serengeti wilderness camp

We place guests at Serengeti Wilderness Camp when the goal is a genuine, unhurried bush stay in the heart of the park. It's the collection's original camp — ten tents only, set above a valley with a permanent water source, in a quieter pocket of the central Serengeti away from the busiest lodge circuit.

Because the water here never dries up, game doesn't need the migration to show up in numbers — big cats, elephant and buffalo are resident year-round, and the herds simply pass through camp on their way north or south. Days are built around game drives in vehicles with a window seat for everyone; evenings end at the campfire with a drink in hand and the valley going quiet below.

To keep its footprint light, Serengeti Wilderness Camp relocates within the central Serengeti every year rather than occupying one site permanently. It's currently pitched at Nyabogati, overlooking a network of river valleys that draw big cats, elephant herds and rewarding birdlife year-round — with a balloon safari on offer for a sunrise view over the same plains.

Fly-in guests land 30 minutes away at Seronera Airstrip. Driving in, it's roughly 3–4 hours from Ngorongoro Crater or around 8 hours from Arusha. The camp stays open all year; the wildebeest migration itself typically moves through the area twice — April to June, and again October to November.
